HTSA Conference: Meet Mike Wimmer

On Tuesday, August 31, HTSA will host a presentation sponsored by Crestron Electronics, featuring the outstanding Mike Wimmer. What is so special about Mike Wimmer and what qualifies him to give an opening speech at CEDIA Expo? Well, consider this: he’s a tech expert specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Mike was featured on CNN, People and appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. He is often referred to as Elon Musk, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates of his generation. He launched and developed two successful technology companies, addressed the United States Congress twice, and won six contracts with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Need more? Wimmer graduated from high school as a valedictorian, finishing his junior and senior years at the same time. Oh, and for good measure, he graduated from college the same week.

Perhaps the most remarkable of all: all of the above accomplishments were accomplished by the age of 12.

“Mike Wimmer is an extremely brilliant technologist and his story is great,” said John Clancy, executive vice president of residential at Crestron. “I had the opportunity to chat with him and share some of the things Crestron does in advanced AI and machine learning. He got it instantly and was thrilled with it! It was remarkable – a lot of adults struggle with these concepts, but Mike got involved right away. There is a lesson here for our industry about the need to educate more of the younger generation, like Mike’s generation. They are our future – and Mike represents a sort of future that we should be nurturing.

Wimmer’s main presentation is titled “Changing Perceptions and Leveraging Advanced Technologies for a More Self-Reliant Future”. This main presentation of Tommapalooza by HTSA will take place on Tuesday, August 31 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sagamore Ballroom at the Indiana Convention Center. All CEDIA attendees interested in hearing this gifted presenter’s vision for future technological trends are welcome.
